Consignment Contracts
This type of contract is used when an art centre or artist/s
sends works to a commercial gallery for exhibition and sale.
This contract is only for works that have been sent to a
gallery to be sold and have not been (fully) paid for.
There are several issues that need to be clear
in this type of contract.
Who are the people signing the agreement?
The name of the gallery and the artist/s need to be clearly
stated
For what?
A list of paintings or craft work should be attached to the
agreement
For how long?
How long is the gallery allowed to keep the works.
