Desert Mob is three days of events and celebrations in Alice Springs, Northern Territory, held annually in September. Desert Mob is presented by Desart in partnership with Araluen Arts Centre.

Art Talks is a day of Aboriginal artists sharing stories of art-making through a day of presentations at Araluen Arts Centre. It is free to the public.
Desert Mob Market Place
Saturday 5 September 2009, 10am-2pm, Araluen Arts Centre
Desert Mob Market Place is a large indoor/outdoor market with stalls selling small and low-priced Aboriginal arts and crafts and related products, such as T shirts, bags, books and calendars from Desart member Art Centres. Popular with both locals and tourists, the market offers a chance of some excellent bargains to early browsers.
Dance Site
Saturday 5 September 2009, 6-9 pm, Old Telegraph Station
Dance Site is a rare opportunity to see traditional Aboriginal dancers from remote communities in a beautiful outdoor setting. Organised by ArtBack NT Arts Touring.
Desert Mob Exhibition
Opens Sunday 6 September 2pm 2009, Araluen Arts Centre. Exhibition continues until 18 October 2009.
The exhibition showcases the latest works from each of the participating Art Centres and includes paintings by some of the leading artists in Australia, together with traditional artefacts, weavings, ceramics and other crafts. Each Art Centre exhibits works by some of its senior artists, together with works by emerging younger artists.
Desart Mob 2010
Desert Mob 2010 will coincide with the Alice Desert Festival commencing Friday 10th September and continuing over the weekend of 11th-12th September 2010. Watch this space for program details.
